Resumo

Neste trabalho, filmes planos de nanocompósitos polipropileno/bentonita organofílica para aplicação em embalagens flexíveis foram preparados pelo processo de intercalação por fusão em uma extrusora AX 16:20 Chill Roll da AX Plásticos. Uma bentonita, proveniente da Bentonit União Nordeste, modificada organicamente, foi incorporada à matriz polimérica em teor de 1% em massa, visando obter materiais com boas propriedades mecânicas. Como compatibilizante foi empregado o Polipropileno modificado com anidrido maleico (PP-g-MA) em teores de 15% e 34%, respectivamente. Os sistemas PP/argila organofílica foram caracterizados por difração de raios X (DRX) e propriedades mecânicas. A morfologia e propriedades mecânicas dos filmes foram alteradas com a incorporação da argila organofílica.

 

In this study, films of polypropylene/organophilic bentonite nanocomposite for use in flexible packaging have been prepared by melt intercalation process in an extruder AX 16:20 Chill Roll of AX Plastics. A bentonite, from the Bentonit União Nordeste, organically modified, was incorporated to the polymer matrix in level of 1% wt to obtain materials with good mechanical properties. The compatibilizer used was polypropylene modified with maleic anhydride (PP-g-MA) at levels of 15% and 34% respectively. The systems PP/ organoclay were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and mechanical properties. The morphology and mechanical properties of films were changed with the incorporation of organoclay.
