Resumo

A avaliação do comportamento tribológico de superfícies tratadas termoquimicamente, tais como cementação e nitretação, é de suma importância para a cadeia produtiva de ferramentas, moldes e matrizes. Entretanto, o uso de ensaios tribológicos para estas superfícies deve ser bem selecionado, de modo que se evite avaliações errôneas, em particular por conta do efeito do substrato em diferentes níveis. Neste contexto, o ensaio de riscamento linear pode ser bastante adequado para distinguir os papeis da superfície e do substrato. Para tanto, este trabalho apresenta uma revisão sobre o uso deste tipo de ensaio para a avaliação tribológica em termos de desempenho de superfícies tratadas termoquimicamente. A abordagem utilizada é multiescala, considerando que tipos de resultados são obtidos a partir de cada faixa de carga utilizada e as aplicações para cada uma das mesmas.

 

The evaluation of the tribological behavior of thermochemically treated surfaces, such as carburising and nitriding, is of uppermost importance for the productive chain of tools, molds and matrices. However, the use of tribological tests for these surfaces should be well selected to avoid erroneous evaluations, in particular considering the effect of the substrate at different levels. In this context, the linear scratch test may be well suited to distinguish the roles of the surface and the substrate. For that purpose, this paper presents a review on the use of this type of test for tribological evaluation in terms of the performance of thermochemically treated surfaces. The approach used is multiscale, considering what types of results are obtained from each load range used and the applications for each one of them.
