Resumo

Trata-se do estudo experimental e numérico da influência de entalhe na vida à fadiga de spindle de laminador de chapas grossas com a utilização do método dos elementos finitos. Foram utilizados extensômetros para medição dos esforços que o spindle experimenta durante o processo de laminação e que serviram como condição de carregamento na análise. Ensaios foram realizados no material para determinação de suas propriedades mecânicas. Simularam-se três geometrias de entalhes e três condições de carregamento e foi determinada então a vida mínima para cada uma. Os resultados mostraram a influência que o entalhe tem sobre o processo de fadiga do spindle, identificando pontos de melhoria que possibilitarão um aumento da vida em serviço do mesmo, diminuindo o número de falhas.

 

In this work experimental and numerical study of notch effect in the fatigue life of plate mill ́s spindle with the use of finite element method were considered. Strain gages were used to measure the stresses experimented by the spindle during the milling process that were then used as load parameters in the analysis. Mechanical properties of the material were obtained. Three notch geometries in three loading conditions were simulated and it was then determined the minimum fatigue life for each case. The results showed the influence that the notch has on the spindle ́s fatigue process, identifying improvement areas that will allow an increase in the spindle ́s life in service, reducing the number of failures.
