Resumo

A reciclagem de escoria de aciaria visando sua redução nos pátios de estocagem, tem sido objeto de diversas pesquisas, sejam por interesses ambientais ou por motivações econômicas e industriais. A utilização como substituição de agregados naturais na construção civil apresenta-se como alternativa factível, principalmente quando observa-se as características e propriedades mecânicas destes materiais. Nesta linha de pesquisa, o uso da escoria como agregado em pavimentos flexíveis mostrou-se promissora, principalmente em pavimentos aplicados a frio (utilização de ligante asfáltico na temperatura ambiente). Este estudo propõe a produção de revestimentos asfáltico com tratamento superficial triplo onde utiliza-se como agregado a escoria de aciaria. O material utilizado nos ensaios, cedido pela Gerdau- Cosigua produzido na unidade industrial de Santa Cruz – RJ, encontrava-se no pátio de estocagem, em pilhas com tempo de cura superior a seis meses. Após a realização de ensaios laboratoriais e teste em situações de exposição ao trafego os resultados obtidos indicam a eficiência da técnica na pavimentação de logradouros com transito local, situação onde encontram-se grande parte da malha viária do país.

 

The recycling of slag aiming at reduction of material in the field stockage, has been object of various research, for ecological interests or economic and industrial motivations. The use as natural aggregate substitution in the civil construction it’s presented as alternative feasible, mainly when it observes the feature and mechanical properties of these materials. In this research, the use of the slag in the flexible pavements revealed promising, mainly when it’s applied cold (using bond asphalt in the ambient temperature). This study considers the covering production asphalt with triple superficial treatment where it is used as aggregate of slag. The material used in the tests, to give up for the Gerdau-Cosigua produced in the industrial unit of Santa Cruz - Rio de Janeiro, met in the field stockage, stacks with upon time of cure the six months. After the accomplishment of laboratory test and applied in the real situations of traffic exposition, the gotten results indicate the efficiency of the technique in the urban pavement with medium traffic, situation that’s meet a great part of road mesh of the country.
