Resumo

Um dos mais empregados métodos construtivos de engenharia é a união pelo conjunto porca-parafuso. São inúmeras as aplicações desse conjunto e a integridade estrutural deve ser almejada de forma que não haja falha. O presente trabalho constitui-se como uma análise de falha realizada em parafusos os quais fazem parte do conjunto de um moinho utilizado na moagem de minério. Tem por objetivo, como as demais análises de falha, de ser uma ferramenta empregada para otimizar projetos pois permite identificar os motivos pelas quais a falha ocorreu e dessa forma evitar futuros problemas operacionais. Foi concluído que os parafusos romperam por fadiga, apresentando vários pontos de início junto à superfície externa da peça. A falha possivelmente deve ter sido estimulada pelos elevados esforços aos quais as peças são submetidas em serviço, aliado à presença de descarbonetação e concentradores de tensões junto aos filetes.

 

One of the most applied assembly methods is the union by bolt and nut. Examples of application are many and the structural integrity must be attained in order that in the future there will not be failures. The present work constitutes as a failure analysis performed in bolts which were parts of mill that processes ore. It has as objective, as other usual failure analysis, of being a tool employed in order to optimize projects once it permits to identify the motives why the failure occurred and this way to avoid future operational problems. It was concluded that the bolts failed due to fatigue, presenting many initiation points close to the external surface of the component. The failure was possibly stimulated by high stresses in which components are submitted in service, together to the fact that there is presence of decarburizing and stress risers as the threads.
