Resumo

A busca pela qualidade e produtividade é uma constante em todos ramos da atividade industrial. Muitas técnicas, métodos e instrumentos foram desenvolvidos com este intuito. Entre estes instrumentos estão os medidores de umidade por infravermelho, que vêm sendo atualmente empregados em vários campos da ciência e da industria, no controle de qualidade, controle operacional, segurança, entre outras aplicações. Este trabalho apresenta uma aplicação dessa tecnologia voltada para a industria de processamento mineral, atuando como uma ferramenta para melhor controle e performance de alimentação em moinhos de bolas; em Carajás. Os resultados apresentados neste trabalho mostram que utilizando esta tecnologia é possível, de uma maneira satisfatória, realizar a alimentação dos moinhos de bolas de Carajás, próximo da taxa real e com a umidade residual na alimentação. O sistema citado já se encontra operando e colocações sobre as condições operacionais para sua utilização são apresentadas, bem como visão futura para aplicação do mesmo.

 

The search for the quality and productivity has been a constant in all branches of the industrial activity. Many techniques, methods and instruments had been developed with this intention. Between these instruments are the measurers of humidity for infra- red ray, that comes being currently employed in varies branches of the science and the industry, in the quality control, operational control, security, among others applications. This paper presents an application of this technology directioned to the industry of mineral processing, acting as a tool for better control and performance of feeding in ball mills in Carajás. The results presented in this paper show that using this technology, is possible, in a satisfactory way to carry the feeding of the ball mills of Carajás, near of the real rate without interference of the moisture in the feeding. The mentioned system already is in operating, and methodical arrangement on the operational conditions for use of the system is presented as future vision for this application.
