Resumo

Os aços inoxidáveis duplex, materiais que apresentam microestrutura bifásica, em quantidades aproximadamente iguais de austenita e ferrita, vêm sendo empregados em aplicações diversas que, em geral, requerem boas propriedades mecânicas e elevada resistência à corrosão. No entanto, algumas situações envolvendo tratamentos térmicos podem levar à precipitação de fases intermetálicas, entre essas a fase sigma, promovendo alterações nas propriedades do aço. Dentro deste contexto, nesse trabalho os efeitos dos parâmetros de tratamento térmico nas propriedades mecânicas de chapas do aço inoxidável austeno-ferrítico SAF 2205 foram analisados e correlacionados com a microestrutura desenvolvida. As análises foram realizadas em amostras submetidas a tratamentos térmicos conduzidos entre 650° e 950°C e tempos de encharque distintos, sendo as propriedades mecânicas avaliadas a partir de ensaios de tração e dureza.

 

The duplex stainless steels, materials that present two phase microstructure, in nearly equal amounts of austenite and ferrite, have been employed in many applications that usually require good mechanical and high corrosion resistance properties. However, some situations involving heat treatments can lead to the precipitation of intermetallic phases, such as the sigma phase, which promotes a change in the properties of the stainless steel. In this paper the effects of heat treatment parameters on the mechanical properties of SAF 2205 austenitic-ferritic stainless steel sheets were analyzed and the results were compared to the microstructure previously investigated. The analyses were performed after heat treatments involving temperatures between 650°C and 950°C and different soaking times. The evaluation of the mechanical properties was performed through tensile and hardness tests.
