Este trabalho apresenta um estudo referente à deformação por compressão em ligas de Ti-Nb-Si, com o objetivo de avaliar as variações microestruturais e de microdureza em diferentes composições dessas ligas. Foram produzidas quatro ligas com 35% em peso de Nb, e com a quantidade de Si variando entre 0,15% e 0,55%. As ligas foram homogeneizadas a 1.000ºC por 8 horas e resfriadas em forno. Dos lingotes homogeneizados foram retirados corpos de prova para a deformação. Foi produzida uma matriz de compressão para tornar a deformação mais homogênea. Os resultados mostraram que a composição Ti-35Nb-0,15SI foi a que sofreu maior deformação e que à medida que se aumentou a quantidade de Si a deformação foi menor. A liga com composição Ti-35Nb-0,55Si apresentou um comportamento frágil.
This paper presents a study on the compressive deformation in Ti-Nb-Si alloys, in order to evaluate changes in microstructure and hardness in different compositions of these alloys. Four alloys were produced with 35 wt% of Nb, and Si with the amount varying between 0.15% and 0.55%. The alloys were homogenized at 1.000°C for 8 hours and cooled in oven. Homogenized ingots were removed specimens for deformation. It was produced a compression matrix to make more homogeneous deformation. The results showed that the composition Ti-35Nb-0,15SI was suffered greater deformation and that as it increased the amount of Si was smaller deformation. The alloy with composition Ti-35Nb-0, 55Si it behaved fragile.
