Resumo

O presente trabalho teve como objetivo o estudo da oxidação na liga de titânio (Ti- 6Al-4V) com diferentes tratamentos térmicos. Foram analisadas amostras da liga com diferentes estruturas: equiaxial, bimodal, martensita e Widmanstätten. As amostras foram previamente pesadas e levadas ao forno com atmosfera ao ar na faixa de temperatura de 500 a 800°C, cada amostra foi mantida a esta temperatura por 48 horas. Após esse período as amostras foram retiradas e pesadas novamente. Os resultados obtidos sugerem que a estrutura de Widmanstätten apresenta-se mais resistente à oxidação.

 

The objective of this study was evaluating the oxidation of titanium alloy (Ti-6Al- 4V) with different heat treatments. It was analyzed the Ti-6Al-4V alloy with different structures: equiaxed, bimodal, martensite and Widmanstätten. The samples were previously weighed and placed in a furnace with air atmosphere at temperatures range of 500 to 800°C. Each sample was kept at this temperature for 48 hours, after this period the samples were removed and weighed again. The results suggest that the structure of Widmanstätten is more resistant to oxidation.
