Resumo

A estampagem dos materiais metálicos pode exibir a formação de imperfeições superficiais e trincas que comprometem a utilização dos diferentes objetos conformados. Dentre os materiais comumente adotados para a estampagem citamse os aços inoxidáveis ferríticos, por exibirem excelente acabamento superficial e resistência à corrosão adequada ao uso. No entanto, diversas variáveis afetam a resposta desses aços durante uma operação de estampagem, como as variáveis de processo e o arranjo micro e subestrutural desenvolvidos ao longo dessa operação. Diante disso, este trabalho apresenta o estudo dos aspectos macro e microestrutural exibidos pelo aço AISI 430 para diferentes estados iniciais (como recebido, tracionado e calandrado com e sem a condução de tratamento térmico intermediário). Os resultados indicaram que o arranjo microestrutural assumido pelos copos embutidos foi semelhante ao observado no estado como recebido, sendo notado ainda que a deformação plástica por calandragem ocasionou o aparecimento de uma orientação macroscópica preferencial e a formação do fenômeno de "orelhamento". Contudo, para todos os procedimentos de estampagem investigados, não foi observada a formação de trincas no aço inoxidável ferrítico AISI 430.

 

The forming of metallic materials could be exhibit superficial imperfections and cracks that hinder the use of different shaped objects. The ferritic stainless steels are a commonly material used in forming operations due to it presents an excellent superficial aspect and corrosion resistance adequate to the different uses. However, many variables affect these characteristics, such as process variables and macro and substructural arrangements developed during a forming operation. This manner, this work presents the study of macro and microstructural aspects exhibited by the AISI 430 ferritic stainless steel for different initial conditions (as received, tensioned and calendered with and without the conduction of an intermediary heat treatment). The results indicated that the microstructural arrangement developed by the shaped cups was similar to that observed in the as received condition, since also detected that the deformation by calendar caused the occurrence of a preferential macroscopic orientation and the presence of earing phenomenon. Nevertheless, for all forming conditions investigated was not observed the occurrence of cracks in the AISI 430 steel.
