This study aimed to evaluate the aluminum additions potential graphitized, in conjunction with silicon-based inoculant, straightly on basket bottom before transference of the molten metal pan to centrifugal machine basket in order to produce ferritic ductile cast iron centrifuged tubes. Samples taken from the tip and head of tubes, without and with different aluminum additions, were subjected to annealing treatments (1050, 1000 and 900°C), in order to be scanned structural modifications through microstructural analysis and Brinell hardness. The aluminum incorporation in the cast iron was more effective to results associated to 1.7% of Al in cast iron. Allowing obtain a hipereutetic slightly nodular cast iron composition, with appropriate graphitization and 100% ferritic matrix, even under the conditions tested with lowest soaking temperature (900ºC) during annealing treatments, and with hardness within specifications for the application.
