Abrasion resistance is a crucial technological parameter for specifying artificial and ornamental stones intended for flooring, stairs, and surfaces subjected to frequent friction. This work comparatively evaluated the abrasion resistance, using the AMSLER method, of vitreous artificial stones produced with recycled soda-lime glass and an epoxy matrix, comparing two compositions optimized by particulate packing (#4 and #8) with reference materials: white SIENA granite and white PRIME commercial agglomerated stone. The compositions were defined by mixture planning, selection by vibrated density and statistical treatment, and processed by thermal pressing under vacuum. The test was performed according to ABNT NBR 12042, and the results were interpreted in conjunction with the physical indices and microstructure. The white SIENA White composite showed the best performance, with a wear of 1.54 ± 0.55 mm, while compositions #4 and #8 registered wear of 2.61 ± 0.04 mm and 2.81 ± 0.21 mm, respectively, and the white PRIME composite, 2.92 ± 0.24 mm. Among the vitreous formulations, composition #4 presented the best technological margin, consistent with its lower porosity and water absorption. The results confirm that abrasion depends not only on densification, but also on the mineralogical hardness of the aggregate, interfacial integrity, and the response of the polymer matrix to friction.
