Resumo
In December 2002, Companhia Siderúrgica Belgo-Mineira, Brazil incorporated the HPS (Hybrid Pelletized Sinter) process to its sinter plant in Monlevade Works. This technology was developed by JFE (former NKK), Japan. The main goal of this project was to make it possible to use 100% of our own iron ore, using the company’s competitive edge, which has been done uninterruptedly since January 18, 2003. The HPS project main targets were reached, and the productivity of 42 t/m²·24h must be highlighted.
