This work compared the thermal behavior of three high-performance synthetic fibers: carbon fiber, Twaron® TC 736 aramid fiber, and ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) fiber Spectra Shield SA1211. The fibers were cut and analyzed by thermogravimetry/derivative thermogravimetry (TGA/DTG) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). Carbon fiber showed the highest thermal stability and the highest residual mass at 800 °C. Aramid fiber exhibited intermediate stability, with its main degradation step above approximately 520 °C and formation of carbonaceous residue. UHMWPE showed melting around 140–150 °C and abrupt decomposition between approximately 430 and 520 °C, with nearly zero residue. The combined interpretation of TGA/DTG and DSC allowed physical transitions to be distinguished from irreversible degradation events, indicating the following thermal stability order: carbon > aramid > UHMWPE.
