Resumo

SMS Demag has successfully combined experiences, products and skills of SMS-GHH, Mannesmann Demag, Italimpianti and KTS to offer large scale (integrated plant size), medium scale (compact) and small scale (mini) blast furnaces. The strategic advantages of the newly organized company include: full coverage of any blast furnace related technology; systems engineering capability to integrate and optimize the entire plant; and effective project management to guarantee project execution. Among the BF technological highlights resulting from this merger, particular focus is given to the latest developments in BF cooling (stavelets), the "no-emission" slag granulation system and the quick exchangeable pool runner.
