Most industrial processes use a non-renewable resin as a binder; however, due to environmental and economic concerns, the production of resins from renewable sources, such as resins synthesized from vegetable oils, is becoming viable. This study aimed to produce two artificial rock with the same aggregates, one using synthesized natural resin and the other using a commercial resin from a non-renewable source. Both were produced using the vacuum vibro-compression process. The artificial rocks were analyzed in terms of mechanical strength and physical indices. The data indicated that the mechanical strength of both rocks is considered suitable for use in civil construction, and the physical properties are compatible with the literature. RARECOM obtained 0.07% and RAREOS 0.33% water absorption. Similarly, RAREOS showed greater wear after 1000 m of testing, therefore its use is recommended for medium traffic, and RARECOM for high traffic. RARECOM is more suitable for outdoor environments and RAREOS for indoor environments, due to the biodegradability characteristic of the natural resin. The development of natural resin has proven to be an effective alternative to resins derived from fossil fuels for the production of artificial rock.
