Resumo

In order to achieve a specific profile of the finished in hot mills it is necessary to have different roll crowns in each stand, these crowns being arranged in accordance withthe roll separating force and the strip widths. A change in the nominal profile or in the roll separating forces also necessitates the changing of the crown in the individual stands. This task is solved in a remarkably simple way by the employment of the CVC system (Continuously Veriable grown). Both the top and bottom rolls are ground to an S-shape and the axial shifting of the rolls against each other produces a continuously adjustable roll gap contour.
