The generation of Blast Furnace Dust, ranging from 10 to 80 kg per ton of pig iron, requires the development of recycling routes aligned with the circular economy. In this context, this study evaluated the physical-mechanical performance of artificial stones produced exclusively with this waste. Characterized by 73.21% Fe₂O₃, spherical morphology, fine particle size (51% sand and 45% silt), and a density of 1.734 g/cm³, the waste was shaped by vacuum thermal compression. Matrices of epoxy resin (25% and 30% by mass) and bio-based polyurethane (PU) (25%) were used, and the effectiveness of a waterproofing treatment was subsequently evaluated. The results demonstrated that the surface treatment was highly effective: the treated 30% epoxy formulation reduced its porosity to 1.62% and absorption to 1.16%. Regarding mechanical performance, the 25% epoxy (19.91 ± 2.98 MPa) and 30% epoxy (23.08 ± 2.62 MPa) compositions significantly exceeded the 10 MPa limit required by the standard. The PU formulation reached 9.41 ± 1.99 MPa. SEM analyses explained this difference, revealing excellent interfacial cohesion in the epoxy matrix compared to shrinkage cavities in the PU. In conclusion, the epoxy matrix enables the use of the waste in coverings subjected to high mechanical stress, while the PU resin offers an eco-friendly alternative for less demanding applications.
