Resumo

In July 1980, Kawasaki Steel Corporation (KSC) developed the world's first multipurpose continuous annealing line and started its operation at the cold rolling plant in Chiba Works. Using three modes of heat cycle, the plant produces five types of steel: high temper tinplate, low temper tinplate, electrical steel, high-strength cold rolled steel, and commercial cold rolled steel. Innovations include furnace construction, gas jet cooling, furnace tension control, and precise strip temperature control. The system has proven efficient in productivity, quality, and cost rolled steel.
