In this work, the fatigue limit of UNS S32760 superduplex stainless steel is evaluated considering the thermomechanical effects induced by the machining process. For this purpose, additional factors related to the thermal, microstructural, and thermomechanical effects of machining are incorporated, especially those associated with cutting temperature, strain rate, and surface work hardening. Among the proposed factors, the thermomechanical factor kz, based on the Zener–Hollomon parameter, and the thermal factors kthermal and kα are highlighted. The results indicate that the incorporation of these factors into the classical model allowed a more consistent representation of the effects of machining on the fatigue resistance of superduplex stainless steel.
