The work investigates the influence of plastic deformation and heat treatment on the hardness of recycled aluminum. The methodology consisted of casting aluminum scrap at 750 °C, subsequent remelting at 800 °C in ingot molds, and solubilization treatment. The material was then subjected to rolling with cross-sectional reductions of 50%, 33%, and 25%, followed by heat treatments at 200 °C and 350 °C for 30 minutes. Vickers hardness tests revealed that the sample with 50% deformation showed a significant drop in hardness (from 57.5 to 36.9 HV) at 350 °C, indicating the occurrence of recrystallization in the metallic matrix. For the 33% and 25% reductions, the hardness experienced only a slight decrease, suggesting the predominance of thermal recovery and the preservation of mechanical strength. It is concluded that the combined control of the strain hardening rate and heating temperature is essential for optimizing the mechanical properties of secondary aluminum, strengthening its technical application.
