Resumo

Based on electric and magnetic properties, like high saturation magnetization, high initial permeability, low core loss, high resistivity, and low coercivity, in this work is presented some considerations about the possibilities of applications of nanocrystalline alloys in toroidal cores for current transformers. It is discussed how the core magnetic characteristics affect the current transformer performance. The results show the potential of nanocrystalline alloys for applications in measurement current transformer cores, because these alloys can reduce the relation and phase errors and can improve its accuracy class.
