Owing to the development of technologies, e.g., surface conditioning free slab, slab hot charging, high speed casting and slab width changing as casting, production cost of continuously cast aluminum killed steels lowered to the same as those of ingot cast rimmed steels. They have less defects and more uniform properties. A new "stop-off" one side gálvanizing method has been developed in which the strip coated with stop-off coating on one side is galvanized and then the stop-off coating is completely removed by quenching or bending in a continuous galvanizing line. The products of which tightly adhered galvanized side has excellent corrosion resitance and uncoated side has clean surface ready for chemical treatment are successfully being used for automotive body panels. High strength steel sheets have bean developed; Rephosphorized steel, with high plastic strain ratic and ferrite-martensite duel phase steel with low yield and high strain and bake hardenebility. Effects of their mechanical propertied on several press formabilites and gage down are investigated. An example of successful application of these high strength steel sheets to automotive body parts is also shown.
