Stabilization of steel flow from ladle to tundish and tundish to mold is provided by an integrated flow control system. The throttling ladle slide gate valves maintain desired tundish level while throttling tundish valves maintain mold liquid level within narrow limits at constant casting speeds in response to input from a microprocessor based logic system which constantly monitors both tundish and mold liquid level. Significant casting accomplishments illustrate the process reliability of such a system. Today we shall address the features of the “T” series tundish valve. Infactory changes while casting, throttling capabilities, plane sealing and coupling to a microprocessor based level control system.
