It is well known that Electric Isolators are generally used in electrical nets under traction loads. An electric company in Brazil had a problem with an element of this type. The piece has been broken in two during the installation process and because this, one did a reliability study using the standard CEI IEC 1109 to evaluate the isolator lot. It has been done the visual inspection, dimensional inspection, traction, compression and impact tests, dye-penetrating essay and microscopy analysis. Considering this information one could conclude the reliability of the lot.
