Resumo

This article presents VAI's approach and solutions for modernizing hot and cold strip rolling mills, focusing on quality and yield improvements. It outlines the key technological advances, including hydraulic gauge control, automatic flatness control, rotor descaling systems, laminar cooling, and crop optimization using CCD camera systems. Multiple case studies from international steel plants highlight the practical results of implementing these modernization measures. The article emphasizes cost-effective upgrades, improved strip tolerances, and productivity increases through automation and integrated systems.
