Resumo

In the work are shown some new technological solutions in metal forming which allow for a significant reduction of the energy (cost) of operations. The idea is rooted in the effect of heterogeneous plastic flow on the evolution of global mechanical properties of metals during straining and in the possibility to induce shear banding by an appropriate scheme and sequence of loading. The results of the measurements of the load-displacement characteristics in modified, according to the concept, rolling (aluminum) and extrusion (lead, aluminum) operations are compared with those for conventional technological solutions. The role of scheme, sequence and value of strain in unite operation on the energy spend and quality of the product is discussed.
