Resumo

DWI (Draw Wall Ironning) tinplates with different Al to N ratios (8, 11 and 17) were produced with the same finishing rolling temperature and coiling temperature after hot rolling, cold rolling reduction and bath annealing schedule. It was observed that they presented different microstructures, microtextures and anisotropies. DWI cans were produced with these materials. A strong (111)//DN fiber texture was observed to arise when the Al/N ratio was equal to 8. It is known that when the (111)//DN fiber texture is present, the cans shows reduced earing results.
