This paper investigates Fe-Ni alloys with high Ni content and low carbon (Fe-31.9%Ni-0.02%C) with different fractions of transformed martensite in order to map and identify guidelines and relationships related to the austenite-martensite transformation. The scanning electron microscope (SEM) analysis and electron backscatter diffraction (EBSD) are used to characterize the microstructure and determine the crystallographic orientations on the Fe-Ni alloy specimens selected for this study. It was made use of program to calculate the axis-rotation angle relationship from the phases orientations, and thus to compare the predicted variants with classical relationship. The phase identification was performed by use of x-ray diffraction associated to metallographic analysis and the EBSD maps.
