Resumo

Na literatura existem evidências sobre os efeitos benéficos da redução da temperatura de acabamento sobre as propriedades mecânicas de chapas grossas normalizadas. O objetivo deste trabalho consistiu em apresentar e discutir algumas experiências industriais, realizadas na laminação de chapas grossas da Usiminas Cubatão, envolvendo laminação controlada mais normalização e Laminação Convencional mais Normalização, da Qualidade 2H-E36-S355J2, onde foi possível determinar o efeito da temperatura de acabamento sobre as propriedades mecânicas da chapa. Os resultados obtidos indicaram que de fato a redução na temperatura de acabamento tendeu a elevar a tenacidade, e, em menor grau, a resistência mecânica das chapas. Entretanto, deve-se verificar em até que ponto essa melhoria nas propriedades compensam em relação a perda de produtividade ocorrida no laminador.

 

In literature evidences exist on the beneficial effect of the reduction in the finishing temperature on the mechanical normalized thick plate properties. The objective of this work consisted of presenting and arguing some industrial experiences, carried through in the thick plate rolling of the Usiminas Cubatão, involving controlled rolling plus normalizing and Conventional rolling plus normalizing, of the quality 2H-E36- S355J2, where it was possible to determine the effect of the finishing temperature on the mechanical properties of the plate. The gotten results had indicated that in fact the reduction in the finishing temperature tended to raise the toughness and in lesser degree the resistance mechanics of plates. However, it must be verified in until point this improvement in the properties compensates in relation the loss of occured productivity in the rolling mill.
