Resumo

Este artigo aborda, a partir da aplicação da estratégia de produção mais limpa (P+L), as potencialidades de aplicação (material adsorvente, mantas e telas para proteção do solo, isolante acústico e térmico, energético, indústria automobilística) do resíduo de coco, bem como o processo de beneficiamento necessário. Esta biomassa residual é gerada pela extração da água e polpa da fruta por processos industriais ou pelo consumo da fruta in natura. Como a casca representa cerca de 80% da fruta apresentam-se sérios problemas para a gestão desses resíduos. A partir disso, analisa-se as etapas necessárias ao beneficiamento encontradas na literatura. Foi possível verificar que a estratégia de produção mais limpa surge como solução para a gestão desse resíduo, sendo aplicada no seu terceiro nível, ou seja, na reciclagem deste resíduo no ambiente fora do local de sua geração.

 

This article discusses the potential application of the coconut solid waste (adsorbent material, blankets and screens for soil protection, acoustic and thermal insulation, energy, automobile industry), as well as the process required. This residual biomass is generated by the extraction of water and fruit pulp by industrial processes or the consumption of the fruit in nature. As the bark represents about 80% of the fruit, serious problems exist for the management of this waste. It is analyzed the necessary steps to the treatment techniques found in the literature. It was possible to verify that the cleaner production strategy emerges as a solution for the management of this waste, being applied in its third level, that is, in the recycling of this waste in the environment outside the place where it was generated.
