Resumo

As exigências do mercado consumidor, quanto ao baixo teor dos elementos indesejáveis à composição química do aço com baixo custo operacional, tem levado as empresas siderúrgicas a procura de inovações em equipamentos de pré- tratamento de gusa. A Insider, como uma das maiores fabricantes de lanças, pretende neste trabalho, inovar quanto ao método de injeção de pós . Hoje, o método tradicional utiliza uma lança refratária dotada apenas de movimento vertical para a injeção de pós dessulfurantes. O processo proposto, a inovação consiste no movimento rotativo da lança, visando uma distribuição mais uniforme do material dessulfurante, com maior profundidade de injeção acarretando maior tempo de permanência no metal, redução do consumo e conseqüente redução dos custos.

 

The demands of the customers to reach to the lowest possible contents of undesirable elements in the chemical composition of the steel, using low operational costs processes, has caused the steel mils around the world to search for innovations in the pig iron pre-treatment equipments. With the presentation of this work, INSIDER, one of the largest manufacturers of lances in Brazil, intends to innovate the existing powder injection methods. Nowadays, the traditional method consists of a refractory lance that creates a vertical flow in the injection of desulph powders. In the proposed process, the innovation is the rotating movement of the lance – with the objective of a more uniform distribution of the desulphurizing agent, deeper into the ladle – resulting in a longer permanence time in the hot metal, decrease of consumption and, consequently, reduction of costs.
