Resumo

A perda térmica faz parte do processo de fabricação do aço e o seu controle dentro de faixas restritas é necessário para que se atinjam as metas de produtividade e qualidade do produto. Corridas com temperaturas fora de faixa são tratadas como anômalas e as causas são pesquisadas baseando-se em um conhecimento prévio dos fenômenos térmicos envolvidos. Uma das causas mais apontadas são as perdas excessivas em panelas desgastadas, mesmo carecendo estudos mais aprofundados a esse respeito. Nesse trabalho é analisada a importância do desgaste de panelas na taxa de resfriamento do aço líquido visando fornecer subsídios para a correta avaliação de anomalias térmicas do processo. Para tal, foi empregada a ferramenta de simulação numérica de escoamento e transferência de calor (CFD) para simular panelas com diferentes espessuras de refratário e perdas térmicas sob a influência do escoamento do aço líquido.

 

The thermal loss is an inherent phenomenon in the steel making process and its control is necessary to reach the productivity and the quality of the product. The heats with outside temperatures are treated as anomalous and the reasons are researched in a previous knowledge of the thermal phenomena involved. One of the main causes is the excessive losses in worn ladles, even though there are few studies about this subject. In this work the importance of the ladle wearing on the cooling rate of the molten steel is analyzed, aiming at supplying tools for a correct evaluation of the thermal anomalies of the process. To do it, the numerical simulation tool of the fluid flow and heat transfer (CFD) was used to simulate ladles with different refractory thickness and the thermal losses under the influence of the molten steel flow.
