Resumo

A parada de uma das turbinas da planta de separação de ar da Fosfertil Araucária, afeta sensivelmente, o desempenho da planta de separação de ar levando a redução da produção das fábricas de Amônia e Uréia. Este tipo de situação, pelo potencial de perdas, normalmente pressiona o pessoal de engenharia e manutenção na busca de soluções rápidas e adequadas para o problema. O presente trabalho relata o incidente ocorrido com uma das turbinas de expansão da planta de oxigênio da Fosfertil em Araucária Pr., que levaram a danos na turbina de expansão, bem como perda do rotor, além da redução de capacidade da usina. A utilização de equipes multidisciplinar aliada ao uso de ferramentas de gerenciamento adequadas como a arvore de causa, foram fatores essenciais para encontrar uma solução rápida e seguras que diminuiu o tempo de parada da unidade.

 

The shutdown of a expansion turbine in the Fosfertil ASU located in Araucária, affects considerably the unit performance and also causes the reduction in the capacity for the Ammonia and Urea plants. This type of event, considering its high lost potential, pushes the engineering and maintenance personal to look for a quick and adequate solution for solving the problem. This presentation is a report of an incident that happened with one of the two expansion turbines of the Araucaria ASU, in which there were significant damages, including the lost of the rotor, besides the decrease of the plant capacity. The study developed by a multi functional group together with the use of appropriate tools, like the fault tree analysis ( FTA ), were the indispensable factors for finding a quick and safe solution, which also helped to reduce the shutdown time of the unit.
