Resumo

Atualmente, muitas siderúrgicas ao redor do mundo têm dado especial atenção ao correto uso de sucata metálica em suas Aciarias. Isto ocorre devido ao forte crescimento das “Mini-Mills” equipadas com os mais modernos Fornos Elétricos a Arco - FEA. Nesse contexto, o maior desafio é otimizar e ajustar o consumo dos diferentes tipos de sucata, gases, energia e combustível para os diferentes tipos de aços fabricados, com menor custo, maior qualidade e produtividade. O trabalho a seguir descrito demonstra entendimento e visão das principais perspectivas do mercado de sucata e o aumento de seu consumo em Fornos Elétricos transmitindo informações fundamentais sobre os diferentes tipos de metálicos. O mais importante aspecto é a relação entre o consumo e a oferta de sucata. O qual, faz os especialistas refletirem e investirem em estudos sobre esse balanço no futuro e os força a melhorar suas práticas operacionais no sentido de otimizar o uso desta matéria-prima tão essencial para o aumento da competitividade entre as siderúrgicas.

 

Nowadays, a lot of melt-plants around the world are paying special attention to the right usage of metallic scrap in their melt shops. Such situation occurs because of the strong growth of “Mini–Mills“ equipped with the most modern Electric Arc Furnaces - EAF. In this context, the greatest challenge is to optimize and adjust the consumption of the different types of scrap, gas, energy and fuel to the different steel grades production with the lowest cost, highest quality and best productivity. This article provide us the understanding and vision about the main perspectives of the scrap market and about the increasing of scrap consumption in EAF. The most important aspect is the relation between the offer and consumption of scrap. It makes the specialists think about this balance in the future and forces them to improve their operational practices, in order to increase the competitiveness in global market.
