Abstract
The CAD/CAE concept was used to study the elastic moduli of textile polymeric matrices composites. The model described here is a general one, capable of producing a 3-D representation of any single layer plain weave textile, and it has been designed not only to facilitate modeling of the weave but also finite element analysis of the finished composite unit cell, as well as providing a very useful visualization of the weave.
