Abstract

Este trabalho tem por objetivo apresentar as principais aplicações das barras de ferros fundidos obtidos através do processo de fundição contínua – FUCO® em vidrarias. O processo de fundição contínua e as suas vantagens em relação às barras de aço e às peças fundidas através do processo convencional em areia serão apresentadas, bem como as microestruturas e as propriedades mecânicas e físicas de algumas ligas FUCO® comercializadas atualmente pela Tupy Fundições Ltda. As principais aplicações no segmento de vidrarias obtidas com as barras FUCO® são: moldes, formas, pinos, punções, neck rings e machos.

 

The aim of this paper is present the main applications of the continuous casting bars – Versa-Bar® into the glass industry. Continuous casting process and its advantages compared to steel bars and sand casting bars are presented as well as microstructures and mechanical and physical properties of some Versa-Bar® alloys commercialized by Tupy Foundry. Some of the main Versa-Bar® applications into the glass industry are: molds, pins, punches, neck rings and plungers.
