Abstract
AUTOMATIC COIL REALLOCATION - ORDER EXCHANGE PROCESS Abstract The management of excess materials in steel production is a constant challenge. In companies that manufacture steel coils to order, each order has a minimum and maximum weight limit. When the total weight of coils linked to an order exceeds its maximum limit, the excess coils remain tied to the original order and do not enter the automatic reuse flow, depending on manual intervention to be reallocated. This paper presents improvements implemented in the automatic reuse system of a steel company, focusing on the automatic order exchange for excess coils. The solution architecture, eligibility rules, prioritization criteria, technical validations, and results obtained are described, including reduction of material aging, improved order fulfillment, and relevant operational gains.
