Abstract

A China possui uma grande capacidade de produção de pelotas, cerca de 145 Mta em 2010, o que pode representar um mercado potencial para minérios hematíticos da Vale. Em função disto, as diferenças de desempenho dos minérios hematíticos comparados aos magnetíticos chineses, nas diferentes etapas do processo de pelotização, foram avaliadas nos laboratórios da Central South University (CSU) na China objetivando suportar ações de marketing neste mercado tão importante. Os resultados demonstraram ser tecnicamente viável a utilização de grande quantidade de minério hematítico em misturas com magnetitas domésticas nas usinas de pelotização da China.

 

China has a huge pellet production capacity, around 145 Mty in 2010, which could represent a potential market for ores to this application. Therefore, it would be important to understand the performance differences between magnetite and hematite ores in order to support marketing action in this important market. The performances of magnetite and hematite ores were evaluated in Central South University (CSU) in China and the results shown that is technically feasible the utilization of big quantities of hematite ores in blends with domestic magnetite in Chinese pellet plants.
