AVALIAÇÃO QUANTO A POTENCIAL DE FORMAÇÃO DA LIGA DE NiTi A PARTIR DE PÓS DE Ni e Ti HDH VIA PROCESSOS DE METALURGIA DO PÓ EM COMPARAÇÃO COM A REFUSÃO A ARCO ELÉTRICO: EVALUATION OF A POTENTIAL FOR THE NITI ALLOY FORMATION FROM NI AND TI HDH POWDERS BY POWDER METALURGY PROCESSES IN COMPARISON WITH THE VACUUM ARC REMELTING

O objetivo do presente trabalho consistiu no estudo do uso potencial de pós de Ni e de Ti HDH (Hidretação-Dehidretação) individuais, de alta pureza e fabricados no Brasil, para obtenção de liga de NiTi via distintos processos de metalurgia do pó, individuais e por simples mistura, por sinterização convencional e sinterização a plasma em comparação a processo convencional de fusão em forno de refusão a arco elétrico (VAR). O uso de temperatura moderada de sinterização de 850ºC em ambos os processos de sinterização nos tempos de encharque adotados e pressão resultaram na interdifusão parcial resultando regiões com camada de liga Ni-Ti entre as regiões com elementos puros (Ni e Ti) em comparação com a liga de NiTi formada pela fusão no VAR.

The aim of the present work was the study of the potential use of Ni and Ti HDH (Hydretation-Dehydration) individual powders, of high purity and manufactured in Brazil, to obtain NiTi alloy through different processes of powder metallurgy, individual and by simple mixing, by conventional sintering and spark plasma sintering in comparison to the melting conventional process in vacuum arc remelting furnace (VAR). The use of a moderate sintering temperature (850 °C) in both sintering processes at the soaking times adopted and pressure resulted in partial interdiffusion resulting in regions with Ni-Ti alloy layer between regions with pure elements (Ni and Ti) compared to the NiTi alloy formed by melting in the VAR.
