Abstract
Natural fiber-reinforced polymer composites have emerged as sustainable materials for structural and ballistic applications. In this study, photocurable composites containing different jute fiber weight fractions (0, 0.5, 0.75, 1.0, and 1.125 wt.%) were manufactured using Digital Light Processing (DLP) additive manufacturing and evaluated through tensile and ballistic tests. Tensile results revealed a reduction in mechanical strength compared with the neat resin, whereas ballistic performance improved significantly after fiber incorporation. The composite containing 1.0 wt.% jute fibers exhibited the highest absorbed energy (105.71 J), demonstrating the potential of DLP technology for producing sustainable composites suitable for lightweight ballistic protection systems.
