Abstract

Dentro do projeto nuclear da Marinha, a fabricação do elemento combustível (EC) contempla a montagem e confecção das grades espaçadoras (GE) – componente estrutural responsável pela fixação das varetas combustíveis (VC), e que é composta por um arranjo de tiras de Inconel 718 estampadas e encaixadas. A pesquisa visa caracterizar as propriedades mecânicas da liga de Inconel 718 após diferentes tratamentos térmicos de envelhecimento, bem como estudar o processo de brasagem pelo qual a mesma será submetida para a confecção das grades espaçadoras (GE). Ensaios mecânicos de tração e de microdureza, além de ensaios metalográficos foram realizados com o objetivo de estudar as variações das propriedades mecânicas de acordo com os diferentes tratamentos e processos de brasagem utilizados nesta liga.

 

In the Brazilian Navy Nuclear Project, the fabrication of the fuel cell includes the manufacture and assembly of the spacer grids - structural components responsible for the fuel rods fixation. These spacer grids consist of an arrangement of strips of Inconel 718 stamped and attached. The research aims to characterize the mechanical properties of Inconel 718 after different heat treatments of aging, as well as studying the brazing process by which the alloy shall be subject to the production of spacer grids (GE). Tensile tests, microhardness tests and metallography were carried out to observe the influence of different heat treatments and brazing process on the mechanical properties.
