Abstract
Hot Blast Stoves belong to the most important parts in the blast Furnace process. The decision for a special type or system consequently has great influence for the success of the installation and future operation of new Blast Furnaces in terms of investment cost, operational cost and availability. In the last years the discussion about different systems and types of Hot Blast Stoves became more and more confusing especially with the retrieval of Hot Blast Stoves with Dome Combustion. This presentation will give an overview of the different systems, of different types within the systems, as well as their comparison in terms of technical features, investment, maintenance, operation, reliability and lifetime. The comparison will include technical and commercial aspects as well as basis information for the improvement of operation and reliability of Hot Blast Stoves plants.
