Abstract
This paper discusses the concepts of Concurrent Engineering and the critical success factors for the successful implementation by a wire processing equipment manufacturer. Concurrent Engineering means executing tasks simultaneously instead of sequentially and actively involving, as early as possible, all parties concerned. Critical success factors include: meaningful projects, cultural change, use of design tools, modular product structure, support by adequate information technology and measurement of progress.
