Abstract

O sopro combinado foi desenvolvido para os convertedores a partir de 1970. O sistema MTBI (Mannesmann Technology Bottom Injection) tem como principal vantagem o controle individual da vazão e pressão do gás inerte por ventaneira. Através da instalação do sistema nos Convertedores 1 e 2 da CST e de um novo modelo de gestão refratária foi possível reduzir o nível de oxidação médio de fim de sopro de 930 para 600 ppm sem prejudicar a vida do revestimento.

 

The combined blowing has been developed to converters as from 1970. The main advantage of MTBI system (Mannesmann Technology Bottom Injection) is the individual control of flow and pressure inert gas by each tuyere. The MTBI and a new refractory management model were installed in Converters # 1 and # 2 of CST plant and brought as results the reduction of the oxidation levels mean at the end blow from 930 to 600 ppm without reducing the lifetime of the refractory.
