DESIGN AND EFFECTS OF EXTERNAL COMBUSTION HOT STOVES FOR ANSTEEL BAYUQUAN BFS

Abstract

Ansteel Bayuquan No.1BF and No.2BF with the same useful volume of 4,038 m3 had been equipped with three sets of DME external combustion hot stoves with additional burner stove double preheating system which can preheat both gas and combustion air to above 250°C, and supply hot blast of 1,250°C only by pure BF gas. DME external combustion hot stoves have following properties such as domes connected by rigid box beam which replace the traditional bellow joints and connecting rods, hydraulic lifting system equipped under the combustion chamber for supporting the combustion chamber, the inner surface of steel domes shell sprayed by a special acid resistant paint to prevent stress corroding from happening in the internal structure of steel domes shell, powerful ceramic burner of grid type suitable for pure BF gas or mixture of gas, fixed shoes for fixing checkers and so on the BFs had been put into operation in September 2008 and in April 2009 respectively. The blast temperature of No.1BF in 2009 had reached to 1,250°C and met the design requirements.
