Abstract

O comprimento crítico das fibras vegetais é um importante parâmetro para melhorar as propriedades dos compósitos por elas reforçados. Assim, esse trabalho tem como objetivo determinar o comprimento crítico das fibras de bucha vegetal para possíveis aplicações em compósitos poliméricos. Para a execução desse ensaio, as fibras foram embutidas em matriz polimérica e depois foi feito ensaio de pullout. Os resultados mostraram que o comprimento crítico das fibras de bucha é igual a 2,14mm

The critical length of natural fibers is an important parameter for improving the properties of composites reinforced by them. Thus, this study aims to determine the critical length of sponge gourd fibers for possible applications in polymer composites. To perform this test, the fibers were embedded in polymer matrix and then made pullout test. The results showed that the critical fiber length of the sponge gourd is equal to 2,14mm.
