Abstract
The present paper describes the improvements observed in the refractories materials destined for teeming ladles where metallurgical treatments are required at steel making process. The excellent results observed during the development of baked alumina-graphite (Al2O3-C) and magnesia-carbon (MgO-C) refractories for this application are presented compared to conventional materials currently used. Also, the paper includes the new concepts for non oxides purging systems, recently design to improve the metallurgical treatments. The main objective of the paper is to present the complete solution approach to manage, assure and achieve the requirements for the modern steel making process.
