Abstract
This work presents the application of a Digital Twin for the diagnosis and repowering of a belt conveyor route at the Tubarão Port Terminal. The methodology integrated the evaluation of the as-built design, operational data from the supervisory system (motor currents and mass flow rate), static modeling using the Belt Analyst software (Overland Conveyor Company), and model calibration using the Data Driven Analyst module. Initially, the impact of different equivalent friction values (dinF) was evaluated, highlighting the underdimensioning of the drive systems under all assessed conditions. Subsequently, the Digital Twin was calibrated with real operational data, allowing the adjustment of distributed resistance parameters and enabling the model to accurately reproduce the system’s energy behavior. The model was validated using statistical indicators and applied in capacity upgrade simulations, guiding the necessary modifications. The results reveal discrepancies between the original design and the actual capacity, identify the main sources of resistance, and support the definition of interventions to ensure capacity and reliability with reduced uncertainty
