Abstract

We developed the in-situ transmission electron microscopy (TEM) observation of the reduction of silica doped wustite. The bulk wustite including 3wt% silica was prepared. The reaction of matrix with carbon was similar to using pure wustite but the Si-rich grains did not react with carbon and some precipitates appeared inside the Sirich grain and the boundary between matrix and Si-rich phase and they appeared without using carbon. They were produced at the temperature range of 673-973K and they disappeared at higher temperature. The EDS analises showed that their component were mopstly iron.
